Holy Moly! I have been working on a project for most of the week and it has not been going well at all! I have made mistake after mistake on it and boy I didn't think I would ever finish! I did though and I had to do a happy dance because it is now OFF my desk!
This looks innocent enough doesn't it?
Looks like a scrapbook but it isn't, nope its a card organizer actually and worse yet this one is a gift. I made a deal with someone that I would make the organizer if they did the cards and bought the postage. What was I thinking??
The original plan came from the August/Septmeber 2005 issue of Paper Crafts. I first saw these on Splitcoast in the gallery there. One gal had made them and the cards to go with them and they were awesome. I emailed her for directions and not only did she pass those on but found a copy of the magazine for me! Well, it has been sitting on my desk for a while waiting to be used and I had planned all along to make them for Christmas gifts with cards, but you know how that stuff goes lol.
So I finally got around to making it, I used papers from The Angel Company because I wanted it to be masculine, since it is for a guy. I was thinking that butterflies and lace weren't something a guy would like and that was pretty much all I had in 12 x 12 papers.
The vellum envelope came from Marco's Paper and the sticker was something that I got once from Silver Crow Creations. So the envelope holds the postage and then the page has a pocket for the cards.
Each page has the printed piece on the bottom to write in Birthdays, Anniversary's and then Holidays for that month as well. Did you figure out yet that this was a Mom's gift to her son lol?
So a pretty cool use for an 8 x 8 scrapbook I think. If you would like the supply list and directions (including my mistakes and how and why I made them lol) just send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, I will be happy to share, you have to send the email though, because when you leave comments I don't get your email address!
Well next comes Christmas gifts and cards. I thankfully have been making the cards all year so I don't have to scramble to get them all done before December 1st!
See ya later!
