Getting Inky!

My niece does not know it, but she is an enabler! (But it’s a REALLY good thing!!!)

It started simply enough with her telling me to watch some videos and I did and one thing led to another and before I knew it, I was shopping for new stamp stuff!

She told me I had to get some Distress Oxide inks to play with.  My first stop was YouTube to find out more about them.  I haven’t (as you know) been creating much of anything in months.  Well, color me intrigued after I watched several videos, they looked amazing. When they finally arrived, they sat on the table waiting to be opened.  My mojo was still a no-go until I forced myself to come into my craft room and just play.

Who knew that smooshing some ink onto your craft sheet could be so therapeutic.  The first five starting on the left were all done on watercolor cardstock.  It was simple ink on craft sheet, spritz with water, drag through colors and dry.  Then repeat.  The last two, were done on glossy and the effect is totally different.  However, I’m waiting on a jar of Distress Micro Glaze to finish them.  When used on glossy paper, you can sort of wipe the ink off, but when you put a little micro glaze on them, it makes all the colors intensify.  I can hardly wait for the stuff to get here!

So once again, I owe my niece a big thank you.  She has no idea how much she is helping me find my mojo again!
