It’s been a flurry of activity in my studio the last few days. I always strive to get the bulk of our Christmas cards mailed shortly after Thanksgiving. I’m breaking these up into a few post over the next few days. Here’s the first batch of photos.
So the first batch were pieces and parts that were kinda-sorta already works in progress.
The first one here was a background that I printed on the computer. I see so many stamps and background papers using script I wanted to see if I could make one. I don’t love it but it will work and now I know ‘how’ to do it better!
This cat stamp is old, I mean like old, it’s one of the very first unmounted stamps I ever got. It came from Woodcellar Graphics who are still in business, though I don’t think the catalog has changed much since I ordered! I had colored that cat and didn’t know what to do with it, prior to die cutting it and layering it on the plaid. Pretty cute if I do say so myself.
This was a case gone wrong! Kathy saw a pin on Pinterest that she wanted to try out and this was my attempt. Bleck! The believe sentiment didn’t show up on the embossing powder and the colors were just not something I loved. Ah, well that’s why I call this a prototype.
These next two were done when Kathy was here because I wanted to show her something new to do. So we played with making wreaths from various things.
The first one is a punch and the second a couple of snowflake stamps. I’m thinking I might try one with Christmas colored buttons next.
Stay tuned, more to come…
